What does the Tallahassee Composite Squadron Do?
The Tallahassee Composite Squadron serves three primary functions --
emergency services, aerospace education, and the cadet program.

Aerospace Education:
Surely no single advance has changed our world more, or promises to
make greater changes, than the advent of aircraft flight and
spaceflight....
|
 The Cadet Program:
The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is one of the best youth programs in
the United States, if not the world, today. Built on over 50 years of
experience in turning young people into leaders, the Cadet Program uses
military drill, aerospace education, and the Emergency Services program
to teach leadership and management skills to teenagers age 12 to 21. Help make a difference in a young person's life today

Training For Emergencies at North Florida Ranger School
Tallahassee, FL - Residents of Woodville or Ft Braden might have been surprised to see what looked like a skirmish line of figures in military uniforms, but they weren't being invaded by a foreign army - they were observing search and rescue workers honing their skills
The Florida Wing of the Civil Air Patrol held the North Florida Ranger School in the Tallahassee area over....More info...
Tallahassee cadets combine Ranger Training and MOSI visit
Several Tallahassee cadets made the 12-hour round-trip drive to Tampa for a weekend of intense training covering topics normally taught at Pennsylvania’s Hawk Mountain Ranger School and more recently at Florida’s Falcon Ranger Academy....More Info....
Cadets take flight of a lifetime
After several CAP and EAA members spent the weekend leading visitors on tours of a historic B-17 "Flying Fortress" from WWII, 6 of their names were drawn to ride the B-17 to it's next stop in Gainesville. Cadet Technical Sergeant Stefan Floyd was lucky enough to have his name drawn, but gave his seat to his younger brother Cadet Senior Airman Joshua Floyd as he (Stefan) had already flown in a C-130 4-engined military transport. The crew of the bomber were so touched by his gesture that they found room for both of them; their school counted the absence as excused.Click for full-sized image
CAP assists at EAA fly-in
Tallahassee Cadets and Officers spent the weekend running concessions, passing out water, and directing aircraft at the local EAA Chapter's fly-in. More Info....
Local Cadets foster international goodwill at Fly-In
This past week, 11 cadets and 4 senior members from the Tallahassee Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol joined up with 8 members of the Lake City Cadet Squadron and made the 12-hr round-trip trek to Lakeland, FL for the 32nd annual Sun ‘n Fun fly-in. They tent-camped in the main campground, paid their way into the fly-in by performing 4-5 hours of community service a day (mostly checking armbands at the front gates or standing watch over the Air Force’s new F-22 Raptor fighter planes.....More info....
